The Ito Dojo practices kendo at the Duncan Family YMCA in Arvada, CO. Information at this site is intended for people curious about kendo, as well as our students who may have a questions about the art or and about our school. Class Information can be found here. Our class schedule has changed recently to best take advantage of the fantastic practice floor we have at Duncan.

Kendo is at the same time similar and very different from other martial arts. The learning curve is very steep at first, but rather than wait for an extended period of time to begin sparring, we encourage our students to begin as soon as we are confident that they will gain from the experience. Participation in a group class setting is the best way to achieve proficiency, yet by the nature of large classes often some simple questions about the art go unasked. Links on this page go to some basic information about the tools of our art. Also, check the forum for uncoming events/announcements or to ask questions of your fellow students. More information will be added to this site, so check back if you don't find what you are looking for.

We learn kendo from Ishikawa Sensei(), a teacher with more than 30 years of kendo experience. Follow the links below to find out more, and thank you for your interest.
